To Prime or Not to Prime that is the question. Okay to me that is NOT a question, I say you should always prime. ALWAYS it just set the tone for a smoother, easier to work with canvas. And it gives you makeup staying power. 

FYI always start with a clean MOISTURIZED face. That is a necessity as well for a smooth finish. 

So, I wanted to share one my favorite primers. It's no surprise that it comes from Too Faced. I am obsessed with them (and a few other brands) . But most of Too Faced just smells amazing! Plus, it's a great quality brand.

Product Spotlight

Foundcealer so this is one of the most difficult things to pronounce for me since worchestire sauce. Okay so maybe not so much difficult to pronounce but the word doesn't flow. It doesn't roll off my tongue making it slightly awkward to say.

But it's not awkward or hard to use at all. This is actually my new favorite foundation. I have always had a hard time finding a good coverage. And believe me I have tried a TON of foundations. I love FaceTape but it seems to run off my face during the summer.. No matter what primer I use with it. I would notice it disappearing around my nose and lips.

With Foundcealer I don't have that problem. It is super lightweight and has amazing coverage and it stays on, even in the heat.  the coverage is very even and blends beautifully. I probably would not need concealer with it BUT I still use it for the bags under my eyes. I am very self conscious about them.

It's not a super thick formula but a little thicker than some I have used. It comes in thirty different shades and is a pump style dispenser. This is much easier for me than the Shape tape which is a dip stick type applicator.

The top picture you can see the pump is out and in this one the pump is down . The cap twist and that magic happens.

I love Tarte foundation and for the most part, a lot of their makeup. I also love that Founcealer is Vegan and has amazing ingredients like Sunflower Seed, vitamins A & E, and  Hyaluronic Acid. There is also a built in 20 SPF sunscreen . Which I guess is great because I am VERY bad about applying sunscreen.

Overall this is now my go to foundation. I have others that I like which I will be reviewing but this is my favorite so far.

Why Changing Beauty Products During the Winter is a good idea

Do you buy New Beauty Care Items for the Winter Season? Should you buy new beauty products for winter? The answer is Yes you should!!

Did you know there are good reasons to change your beauty care products in the winter in order to protect your skin from the damaging affects of colder temperatures? You may notice that your facial and body skin changes during the winter as you are exposed to cold air. To remain warm in the winter, you use a furnace that emits warmed air that tends to dry your skin quickly, leading to itchiness. In addition, you are likely unable to get outside as often in natural sunlight that is vital for manufacturing vitamin D.


Use Moisturizing Bath Soaps and Body Creams

While in the summer you might have oily skin that requires cleansing with astringents, you can develop dry patches of skin on your face, knees and elbows during the winter. Instead of using deodorizing bath soap that removes excess oil, you can switch to using gentle or moisturizing soaps. After you are finished with a bath or shower, apply luxurious body creams and lotions to keep your skin from becoming drier in a home’s climate-controlled air. Take extra time each day to apply lubricating serums around your eyes where the thin skin develops dryness quickly.

Apply Protective Lip Balms Throughout the Day

One of the first areas of your face that you will notice a change from winter weather is your lips. The reduced amount of humidity in the air in the winter can lead to having lips that split and peel. To prevent this problem, begin to use lip care products throughout the day, including lip balms that contain ingredients designed to protect the skin from sun damage and windy conditions. Find small containers of lip balm to keep in your handbag or the pocket of a winter coat so that you can apply the product anytime that your lips begin to feel drier.

Switch From Powder Makeup to Creamy Makeup

You will also need to change your makeup products in the winter in order to have glowing skin that isn’t dry and itchy. Buy a new moisturizing foundation that matches your skin tone to provide more protection for your facial skin. Before applying this foundation, use a moisturizing lotion that contains sunscreen. Rather than using powder blush or eye shadow, find liquid or creamy eye shadows and blush that are in an attractive color for wearing with                            winter garments.

I have worked with Studio Gear to review other products and they have never disappointed.  I also love tat they do not test on animals. That is a huge plus for me. I'm an animal rehabber so I try not to promote harming them. I work too hard to save animals. 

So I was excited to work them again. This time I get to share the Revitalizing Serum and Dual Identity Mineral Foundation. Oh and One of their super soft makeup brushes too.         

EZGO Professional Eyelash Curler,Rechargeable Heated Eyelash Curler

I was a little afraid of this heated eyelash curler but overall I as intrigued. It was very unique and I couldn't wait to review it. When I got it in I was very shocked (even with the pics) to see that is is charged by USB port. This is not what I would have expected from a beauty product. But I plugged it into my computer anyway.

There's a red light that indicates it still need to charge that goes off when it's done. It was ready and fully charged in no time. The on/off button is a push button that works little pressure. It heats up in a few seconds and its ready to use. Now I'm pretty spastic so I was scared to put something really hot by my eyes. But I touched it and it's no a burning heat. It's the same heat you would achieve if you put your curler by the flat iron for a few seconds.

It's warm but not uncomfortable on my eyelashes so it's not one of those it's painful to beautiful products.
I used it just like a mascara wand from base to tip motion but at a slower pace. I did it a couple of times and my lashes were slightly curled. BUT I have lashes that are straight. I kid you not they stick almost straight out. I'm not lucky enough to have long, lushes lashes with a natural curl. I would absolutely recommend this product. It's just one smaller way I can avoid the need to wear falsies. I would use a lash primer after curling to enhance the pop of your mascara.

Sealike Professional 6 Colors Concealer Camouflage Foundation Makeup Palette

I was very skeptical of this concealer because I normally use a cream concealer pallet. I really didn't expect much coverage from it. But I was very surprised. First let me start the pods of individual concealer is HUGE. No complaints here but I was not expecting them to be so big. The colors are perfect for my skin tone which is fair/medium but it would be great for a darker skin tone as well. There is a yellow, pink, and white shade as well. All of which cover different blemishes.
The powder is what really through me off but it was SOO very pigmented that it went on the same color as my cream concealer. But it blended much easier. With a blending sponge and a Kabuki brush it was completely blended. No lines, no dark patches. I layered dark and light without the looking like I had tons of makeup on. In fact it was invisible
This concealer provided long lasting coverage. But I use a primer and liquid foundation. I can say I would not be able use this a powder foundation because I need more coverage. But it might be good as a pressed finishing powder.

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir

I will rarely splurge on makeup. I feel if it can do the same thing at a lower cost I'm going with that brand. But there are times when you have to splurge or should I say should splurge because after all you do get what you pay for in some instances.

I was very lucky to try Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara from Influenster.  To me just the name Marc Jacobs means splurging or pampering so I was very excited to try it.  Mascara is one of those products I feel I should splurge on because lashes can make or break a look.  I feel super sexy when my lashes are long and lush so I'm no stranger to higher end mascaras.  And believe me they all work very differently.

So the first thing I noticed about the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir is the tube is very eloquent . It's shape is odd and the color is classic black. But something I would display on my vanity for everyone to see.  The brush was mind blowing because I always thought it had to be curved to work. NOPE this one is pretty small with I guess an hour glass shape.

This was love at first swipe because now I don't' want to use any other mascara. My lashes look AMAZING (if I must say so myself). They look thicker and have more volume which makes them pop!   The mascara doesn't clump or smudge. It last for a long time... I work 10 hours a day and it's still there.  But still super easy to remove with a little makeup remover.

Overall I would recommend this mascara and will keep buying it. I am hooked! Thanks Influsenster for letter me try this new must have complimentary!

October's Glossy box

I cancelled Ipsy a few months ago and I missed it but I wanted to try something new and exciting so I just joined Glossybox. Glossybox is very similar to other subscription beauty boxes that are delivered to you door every month. The only difference is it has different products than most boxes I has seen/tried.


I signed up for Glossbox late October and my box was shipped quiet quickly. I was not expecting to get the October box but I did and I'm very glad I did. The theme is Paris and the products are French in nature. So this is was exciting because I KNOW I have never used these products. Plus these are higher end products than other subscription boxes offer.

The box was decorated with a cute pic of the Eiffel Tower was wrapped in red and the prodcuts were wrapped like a gift.

It's Looksbook Time again. I get so excited to see the Looksbook theme every month! This month is Shimmering Future.  I was a little iffy about this box when I saw gold eyeliner I thought not for me. But the rest of the box works for me. I love the eyeshadow color and the lipstick is amazing!

So what's in my Looksbook?

Eyeshadow duo in Fortune 500:
Two super shimmery colors one is a gold the other is a pink/purple. But it depends on the lighting because they seems to change colors at different angles. It goes on beautifully and is okay even for a day look. It doesn't crease but It did fade a lot. I think it's because of the cream primer I used so I will try again.

Tube of Lipstick in Opulence:
Is a really beautiful purple/ plum shade. It's is perfect for winter. It's a deep succulent color that has a dark sex appeal to it. It is made for date night or nights out in the club. I love it and can't wait to have a place to wear it.

The eyeliner in Golden Ticket:
This one totally threw me off. It's a GOLD color I don't think I will use it. I could have used it with my Halloween costume but i can't imagine wearing it for everyday life. Maybe for a club but it's not my cup of tea.

It's Looksbook time again

That's right it's Lookbook time again. I'm excited about the October Looksbook from Starlooks.  October's theme is Utopia (an imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect) Which is fitting because the colors are PERFECT

September's Starlooks, Looksbook

This is my second Starlooks Lookbook and so excited. The "look" or theme is Revival and the colors are STUNNING!! I can't wait to start playing and creating looks.

So what's in my Looksbook?

Eyeshadow duo in Agave:
I fell in love with the eye shadow duo the minute i opened the box. Then when when I saw the picture of it applied, I loved it even more. They are both beautiful matte colors 

Tube of Lipstick in Rawr:
Is a really beautiful mauve, magenta shade.  This is a color i would have picked out myself. It is a little bright but it's a perfect fall color. I couldn't wait to wear it!








The mascara in Flora:
This one totally threw me off. It's a teal color and I was not expecting that. It's is much prettier than I was expecting and once I saw the picture in the tips I couldn't wait to use it.
