September's Starlooks, Looksbook

This is my second Starlooks Lookbook and so excited. The "look" or theme is Revival and the colors are STUNNING!! I can't wait to start playing and creating looks.

If you don't know what LooksBook is ~~  It's a monthly subscription in a book type package. These looks are a themed differently and delivered to your door every month.

The book is small box that holds the three pieces of makeup in place so it's very portable. It would be easy to toss in my purse or gym bag. I have I opened the book and there is a lipstick, eye shadow duo, and mascara.  They are deluxe samples in other words. the perfect sizes.

The top of the book has pictures with tips on how to complete the perfect look with those products. Since they are connected to the box I don't have to worry about them falling off and getting misplaced.

Like I mentioned the theme is Revival so I had no idea what to expect from the colors.

So what's in my Looksbook?

Eyeshadow duo in Agave:
I fell in love with the eye shadow duo the minute i opened the box. Then when when I saw the picture of it applied, I loved it even more. They are both beautiful matte colors

Tube of Lipstick in Rawr:
Is a really beautiful mauve, magenta shade.  This is a color i would have picked out myself. It is a little bright but it's a perfect fall color. I couldn't wait to wear it!

The mascara in Flora:
This one totally threw me off. It's a teal color and I was not expecting that. It's is much prettier than I was expecting and once I saw the picture in the tips I couldn't wait to use it.

This month's Lookbook exceeded my expectations!! So I'll say it again of all the subscription boxes this is one of my favorites.
It's not just that the products are awesome but I like the themed concept as well.  I'm getting a new different look to try every month. So I'm getting introduced to colors new exciting colors that I may never have tried.

The little box/book is so compact I can easily throw two or three in my suitcase/camper and have three possibly more different looks without taking up too much space.

Eddie Funkhouser Lip Color pack - giveaway

I don't care what my husband says I can never have enough lipsticks/lip glosses.  I really must have a hundred but they are all different even if similar in shade there is some variations from brand to brand. You probably know exactly what I mean.  I have reviewed EddieFunkhouser cosmetics for y'all before and they are amazing so I was very excited to review these for you!

I'm sure that you are the same way but the shade of lip color I wear depends on the makeup and outfit I'm wearing that day so when I saw the 4 shades I received I knew I would love them all.  One was a neutral shade and one was a pink/mauvish shade and those are the types of shades I all the time.

Lipstick ~ Made in Italy
LipGloss ~ Sugar

lipgloss - Girl Gone Bad

 lipstick - Epic

The lipstick and lipgloss both come in alot of other amazing colors so you find a shade that is perfect for you.  The lipstick goes on very smooth and feels great on my lips. The lipgloss goes on smooth as well, it's not gooey or sticky. I love when a lip gloss isn't sticky.

I love the brush it's so very unique. It come with a cap and it folds in completely to be neatly tucked in. I can put in it my purse or travel bag and not worry about it getting ruined.

with the cap on

The bristles are made very sturdy so they won't fall out. They are very soft but firm enough to make apply lipstick easy and accurate.

One Direction Limited Edition Makeup in a collectible tin

I was excited when I was chosen to review Makeup by One Direction for y'all but then I was little nervous. I'm not a teenager anymore and One Direction is a teen age heartthrob band. So It would only make sense if the makeup was made for young girls. There are three different collections inspired by the band's chart topping albums Midnight Memories, Take Me Home, and Up all Night. Each limited edition The Looks Collection has everything you need to enhance your beauty style all in a collectible tin.

Every tin contains a Little Black Dress Mascara, four velvety, pigment-rich eye shadows, and a bold glitter creme shadow, Chubby eye and body crayon , nail varnish in fashion forward shades including metallics and golden glitter flakes.

Like I mentioned there are three collections to choose from and I was VERY happy when I saw the collection I was sent. These colors are perfect for me so I would wear them and be able to work well with them.

I got the Take me Home Collection the palette is semi-neutral and I say semi because there is a glitter crease so it can be ramped up to a beautiful night time look. The palette is a little less pigmented than I expected being geared towards younger girls I thought it would be very bold and bright but it went on beautifully. Even the shimmer (not the glitter) color was very pretty and mildly shimmery. It was just enough shimmer to give it a little sparkle. I will continue to wear the palette until I run out. I love the colors and I love the look of them on. On a primed eyelid the shadow was very smooth and long lasting. It did not crease or fade. This is when I wore them all without the glitter shadow.

The mascara is an average mascara with a nice long handle to the wand. The brush is slim and easy to use on both top and bottom lashes. You won't hear me say this often but it works better with a swooping motion instead of a wiggling motion. In my honest opinion there was no wow factor with the mascara at all. It was not bold or intense nor did it give my lashes a great curl or tons of volume. It would be perfect for an every day mascara where you are not looking for dramatic lashes. I did notice smudging at the end of the day but that could be avoided if you don't sweet like I did.

The lip gloss is orange and I thought I wouldn't like it but it's adorable. It is very shimmery but still very pretty on. It's enough glimmer and glitter to make my lips sparkle. But it was not too much were I looked like I was going out to a club.

The Chubby eye and body crayon is brown and could be used as eyeliner if you wanted. It can be used for your face or body to draw what you want, the kit comes with stencils so they would work hand and hand together. The body crayon goes on extremely smooth and the line can be as thick or thin as you want, you are in complete control .

The nail polish is a multi-colored glitter formulated for quick drying and long wear. I have this love/hate relationship with glitter. I love the way it looks, but I hate the way it sticks like super glue.  I of course will never stop wearing glitter.

The lipstick looks like it would be an extremely bright pink but it is a very pretty shade. It goes on smooth and is long wearing. It doesn't feel icky or gooey on my lips so I don't feel the need to wipe it off after a few minutes.

The tin has a cute brick design and all of the makeup works a brick design in as well. I think that the tin is adorable and so is the makeup. I would like to keep the makeup and the tin as a collector's item but I will use the makeup instead. It's really too pretty to pack away. The makeup is by Markwins which has received numerous safety awards and is committed to cruelty free practices

March's Glambag from Ipsy

So I got my Ipsy Glambag early this month and I wanted to share it with you. I can say I don't think I have been so excited about a glambag in quite a while. I know people are upset that there is only 4 items but I like/love and will use 3 out of the 4 so I think that's great.

Not to mention one of the items I like sells for $16.00 so if I would have purchased it I would have spent more than I did on my bag. So enough rambling, let me show you what I'm so excited about.

The first thing I SUPER excited about is the Vita Liberata Luxury Tan 2 - 3 week tan lotion in medium .I have never used a tan lotion but have been shopping for one. I was going to get one with my Sephora gift cards but didn't want to waste my money if I wouldn't like it.  Now I get to try one thanks to Ispy, It's a decent size sample that will probably be enough for 2 - 3 applications.  Full size sells for $37.50

The next thing I got is a deluxe size sample of Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick in get ready. And guess what!! It's a mauve/pink color that I love and will wear. I don't care if it is a sample, I can't remember the last time I used a full tube of lipstick before it expired. Full size sells for $18.00 and there are lots of other colors to choose from. Second winner in my glambag!

The third thing I got is a full size BeABombshell eye shadow quad in Bora Bora I LOVE three of the colors (I'm a little skeptical of the teal) and will wear them. The other are neutral colors with a slight shine. Don't get me wrong the teal is gorgeous and if I can make it look, right I will wear that color too. Love Be A Bombshell from previous Ipsy bags, love the colors. Another winner! Sells for $16.00 so by itself my Ipsy bag was worth it. I just happen to have 2 other things I'm super excited about.

The last thing I'm so crazy about the color but the product appears very nice.  Its' a Chella eyeliner pen BUT it is Bleu Indigo. The point is great I swatched it, provides perfect drawing precision and dries in seconds. I'm not sure what I'm missing but I have not got into the blue eyeliner craze. So I'm not so pleased with this. It will go in my swap/giveaway bag so maybe soon you'll have a chance to win it. If you have something you want to swap with me for it, let me know.  This sells for $24.00

This month I also think the bags is REALLY pretty so I will probably hold on to this one. Without figuring the total I want to say Well done Ipsy! This is one bag I'm very happy about and can't wait to dig in and start using the products. So what are they worth all together? So had I purchased all four products it would have cost me a whooping $95.50! Not bad for $10/m with no shipping right?!?

If you're not an Ipster and want to sign up because of this fabulous (haha) post please use my link I get referral points. If you are an Ipster please let me know if you are as excited about your glam bag as I am.

February's Starbox from Starlooks

So it's time to see what's in my February Starbox. Starbox is a monthly subscription box that delivers 3 -4 full size Starlooks products to your door for $15.00 per month plus shipping. They also ship internationally for all my international friends.  I loved me my January box so lets see what's in this one.

The first thing I pulled out is a full size Cream Eye Shadow in Phaser which is a beautiful purple shade. I love purple shadows so I was very excited when I saw the color. When I swatched it I was even more excited it is slight shimmer. It feels so smooth and glides super easy. I can't wait to wear this shadow. This alone sells for roughly $12.00 that almost paid for my box right there!

The next thing is Pigment in Wall Street this is a shiny black glimmer that can be used to add color to just about any thing. Mix it with foundation or moisturize for bronzer. Of course I won't use this color for bronzer but I can see it making a pretty eyeliner.  There are tons of pretty colors to choose from.  This sells for  $17.00 by itself so it has paid for the box in full.

The next thing I got is a Starlooks lipstick in BFF which is a bronze light gold shimmer, only a slight hint of color but enough to add a pretty shine. This sells for $12.00 a piece.

The last thing I got which I am very excited about is a head band to wear while applying makeup. I like the material and it fits well and is very comfortable to wear. It holds ALL of my hair back which is great. I have other head bands but they seem to hide and I am always looking for one. This one will come in handy until it hides so this one will come in handy.

Starlooks is 100% cruelty free so that is a huge plus. They are not only US based which is excited because I know other subscription boxes are US only. If you sign up it's delivered straight to your door every month, and they bill you monthly. You can cancel at any time also there is a note if you get a duplicate item in your box contact customer service and they will take care of you, which ensures you will get to try something new every month.

Studio Gear Cosmetics

I was recently introduced to Studio Gear, and I'm so glad I discovered them. I have shared a few products from Studio Gear with ya'll. Here is a link to the amazing holiday palette and CC Cream review.  I'm sharing the Cake eyeliner, Concealer, and lipstick with ya'll today.

I like to use gel or liquid eyeliner I find it gives me better control. When I first saw the Cake Eyeliner I thought it was an interesting concept. I have used eye shadow as liner and that is what it reminds me of. I can wear black with a lot of colors so I was happy that the shade I tried was black. It also comes in Forest (green) and brown. I applied it with one of my liner brushes. I was very impressed by the control I had when applying. It doesn't go on dark but you can put a couple of coats to make it the color you want.  I love how it looked when applied under my eyes. With some liners I have a hard time getting the control that I want and not look like a raccoon.

The next product I want to tell you about is the Studio Gear Hidden Agenda concealer. It comes in five colors including Mint.  Lately I've been experimenting with concealers and this one is great. It is a great consistency and provides great coverage.  It's easy to apply, I use my fingers sometimes an eye shadow sponge to get in the creases under my eyes and blends perfectly. It doesn't flake nor can you see the concealer but the coverage is very noticeable. As tempted as I am to use a lot, it takes very little to provide the coverage I need.

The last product I want to tell you about is the Studio Gear Luxury Lipstick Lately I have been wearing lots of gloss instead of lipstick. I save the lipstick for special occasions but I still love them.  The color I chose was Repentance and it is a pretty shade of pink. I stick to the mauve and pink family but red lips is very pretty some times. This lipstick goes on great without being sticky or gooey. It wears great, is long lasting, and leaves your lips feeling great with it's built in moisturizing spheres.

I am now a huge fan of StudioGear Cosmetics they have lots of amazing make-up, brushes, and skin care products at great prices. I have been impressed with the quality and wear of all the products I have tried so far. Use code BLABBING13 at check out for 10% off your purchase!

In this picture I have on the Cake Eyeliner and concealer.

I received these products complimentary in exchange for an honest uncompensated review but the opinion is all mine. Rest assured I would only recommend products that I feel are good for my readers.

Luxe Pineapple review and giveaway

I know you all love makeup as much as I do. If you are like me there are some products you need splurge on while others you know you don't really need to spend the extra to get a good product. Lipstick and eye shadow are two perfect examples of products you really don't need to splurge on. Not that I never buy the high end brands but most of the time unless I WANT them extremely bad I tend to buy the lower end brands when I can.

But what if there was a site you could buy the high end eye shadow and lipstick at a fraction of the original cost. That would be amazing right!?!  Thanks to LuxePineapple, you don't have to feel guilty about buying Lancome eye shadow or Elizabeth Arden lip stick. They have high end makeup at drug store prices and they also offer a deal of the day with on goal to "offer one luxury product daily at a super low price."  Shipping is also free 99% of the time so the price you see is the price you pay.  You don't have to stick to the deal of the day either they have lots of other amazing deals to shop.

I was sent two products from the store to review the first is a Lancome Color Design Ombre Mono Effects Shadow Quad. It originally sells for $33.00 listed on LuxePineapple for $7.50. That is a HUGE savings. The colors in it are beautiful and blend perfectly. The shados are very nicely pigmented and they are long lasting.

The send is a BareEscentuals Lip color in Truffle normally sells for $15.00 listed sale price on LuxePineapple is $8.00. That is almost half off.  The lip color is a beautiful neutral color. It is long wearing and doesn't feel sticky at all.

Are you still there or did you run off to shop at LuxePineapple? I don't blame you if you did the savings are unbelievable.  If you didn't run off yet, go visit their site and come back to tell what you bought or what's on your wish list.

Luxe Pineapple is having an amazing giveaway that I can share with ya'll, go check it out

Ipsy's August 2013 Glambag

Hey have you heard about Ipsy? If you haven't this is the scoop it's $10.00 per month and you get cute make up bag with 4/5 full size or deluxe samples.I have been a member for a few months and have not been disappointed.  There are usually a few variations of the bag so every month I feel a little like a child on Christmas eve waiting for Santa. It's a great way to try premium products without the high dollar cost.

You take a quiz and the products are tailored towards you from your answers. Each month they have a theme and the products and bag go with that theme. This is my August Bag "Glamour Academy".  I love the bag this month, it's so pretty and the products inside are awesome.

The first thing is a deluxe size 1oz sample of Micheal Todd  Pumpkin facial mask.  The full size is 3.4 oz and cost $34.00.  Next is a Nailtini nail lacquer cost $13.00 a bottle. Sample of PixiBeauty Lash Booster Mascara it's a really nice size sample, full size sells for $19.00. Sample size of Urban Decay Revolution lipstick. It's the cutest sample in a silver tube. Full size sells for $22.00. Last but not least there's t a MicaBeauty shimmer powder full size sells for $9.99. Since they are not all full size I can't say look how much I saved. But I can say if you were to buy these things to try you would have spent a lot more than $10.00.

I love getting my Ipsy glambag in every month if you want to get your own bag check it out here and Join me

I'll post full reviews of the products I love soon so stay tuned.  Let me know if you decide to join.
