For most of us, grabbing our gear and running out to the car and heading to appointments, play dates, work and daycare are a regular every day thing. Vicks Smart Temp Thermometer

Vicks made this thermometer for moms like me. I have six children and if they are all sick I have a very hard time keeping track of everybody's temp. I can write it down but those little papers fly away and get lost somewhere in oblivion. Now there's an app for that. AT first that statement was a huge joke but I don't know what I would do without some apps.

This thermometer is small and easy to use. Tip is smooth and comfortable under the tongue (yes i used it myself) It's easy to turn on with the push of a button and there is a green light that comes on when it's powered up. It only takes seconds for the temperature to read. Which anybody who has fought with a child to keep their mouth shut for a temperature reading knows that is a huge PLUS.

The cap fits perfectly and doesn't fall off when the thermometer is moved. So the tip is always protected.

One complaint is it cannot be used without the app as there is no temperature reading on the thermometer itself. I know it would be hard to keep track without the app but sometimes I may need a quick temp reading even if I dont' have my phone.; Vicks should have an option to use it without the app and this would be the best thermometer ever.

Crib Mattress Giveaway

YodoGroup Diaper Bag

I was so excited to review this diaper bag. I got rid of all my baby stuff and surprise another baby. So I was starting from scratch.  I was so excited that it was pink because I had a lot of neutral things for my other children.

This is an adorable diaper bag. It compact but is very roomy with three outside pockets and plenty of space inside to organize and store all of baby's needs. The material is perfect, all I have to do is wipe it down and it's clean as new. That includes the inside material. There is a set of shorter straps and an optional longer one. I love the insulated pouch that will keep a bottle warm. My daughter was super picky when she was first born, her bottles had to be just the right temperature so this would have been perfect.

Zippers easily open and close without getting stuck. The two front pouches have magnet closures so they are self closing and keep the baby's things inside. This is a perfect pouch for wet clothing/bibs because it won't ruin the material. The design is very cute and feminine with the pink background and grey accents.

A lot of things can be carried in this bag and things are still easily accessed. There is a pouch on the inside that is higher so a bottle fits perfectly. The jars for food and a spoon fit perfectly in the smaller elastic pouches. They close enough so the stuff does not fall out.

Yodo Group Diaper Bag

Okay I'll confess when I ordered a Pink bag from Yodo. I had neutral colors for my other children so I swore my last baby girl would have everything pink. I opened the box and was so disappointed when I got in a green a brown bag. But I started looking at the bag and feel in LOVE with the bag and it's features. Besides my husband refused to carry around a pink diaper bag.

So let's start with the material ~~ It is amazing. It's super soft but so easy to clean.It will not hold dirt or odors because all I have to do is wipe it clean. It's a deep brown color with slight lime green accents. So it's very gender neutral but cutesy at the same time. My husband is Okay with carrying it so it's not too cutesy.
There is a set of straps attached and an adjustable strap one that can be attached if you need a longer strap or taken off if you can use the shorter ones. The zippers opens closes smoothly and doesn't get stuck. All of the zippers are silver with a cute little circle on them.

There is a side pouch with a wipe holder. The holder is super cute and has a green top that matches the accents of the bag. I think this is one of my favorite features of this diaper bag. There is a hole is that pouch so I can open the wipe box without opening the diaper bag. That is every mother's DREAM!!!! I hate fighting with zippers when i need a wipe in a hurry.

Then there is an insulated bottle bag so you can make a warm bottle BEFORE you leave the house and keep it that way for a few hours. It can be attached to either side of the bag or removed depending on your preference. The bag closes easily with the bottle bag in it our you can leave it hanging out for quick access.

I would bet a mother designed this bag because it's so functional. There are stretchy pouches and zippers all over. So everything has a place to go neatly. Everything is not just jammed in a bag. I was able to put my water bottles in one stretchy pouch and the baby food + spoon in the other. A change of clothes tucked neatly in the inside zipper. A burp cloth and blanket tucked neatly in the front zipper pouch. There are two/three other pouches so plenty of room.

When I have to reach for something in this bag it's not all over, so I don't have to dig, I can grab exactly what I need. The bag including everything I have packed in there is super lightweight.

Girl's 3 Pack Pacifier clips

I never leave home without a pacifier clip. I can't imagine my daughter's noonie falling on the ground of a shopping center or doctor's office. I would want to boil it and get rid of the germs!  I'm cringing at the thought.

The ones that they are coming out with now the clips are really big and bulky. My daughter hates them and so do I. I have a hard time finding a place to fasten them and I usually have to stick it on her sleeve.

When I saw these from Savvy Baby I thought they were so adorable and I was very happy to have a chance to review them. They are cloth material decorated differently on both side  So there is a cute contrast when the noonie is in my daughter's mouth.

  

These clips are so nice and different because:

1. they are small, 
2. they are easy to fasten on anything
3. they  have an extremely tight grip, 
4. once the noonie/toy/teething ring is on it will not come off.  So I KNOW it's not going to get filthy with these!

The clamps are easy to put on and take off for me, not my daughter. Plus keeping the noonie on her when it falls out she is able to grab and it put it back in her mouth.. When she WANTS to. If not she will hold it and cry until I put it back in her mouth.

Having a baby is a precious and wonderful gift... but babies are expensive! Yikes! I started my coupon journey four years ago when I found out I was expecting my first child. I was excited but scared and worried about the finances. My husband and I thought it'd be in our best interest to purchase diapers, wipes and things we'd need for the baby through my pregnancy so that we were stocked fairly well. $11 for diapers. Eleven dollars for 36 diapers that my baby will use in the first 48 hours. At that rate, I would have been spending $165 or more on just diapers! That wasn't going to work. I got online and I researched and fell onto a couponing site. Diapers for just three dollars! I'm sold, tell me more! I read every tutorial I could, watched video after video and finally I walked into CVS with a smile and a lot of hope. (I only had $20 in my pocket, this HAD to work) I walked out of the store that day with four packs of diapers, change from my twenty and ExtraBucks (like CVS store credit). I was hooked. By the time I had my son, I had almost enough diapers for his first year of life. Our closet was stuffed with diapers, wipes, creams, food, clothes and toys for the baby and I wasn't in financial ruin. I was happy. I could spend the next few months focusing on the little miracle I had just met.

You don't have to spend a lot of money to provide for your baby, your children or even yourself. The items below retail for $170! I paid about $40 for it all. The Carters outfits were FREE from JCPenney, I used coupons on the diapers, wipes and cream! The toys were paid for with overage. The books were on clearance for $0.75. My goal is to teach YOU how to save money by couponing and shopping smart.

My Thoughts

I'm going to give away the fact that I'm no spring chicken and let you know that after I was done washing our clothes by beating them on a rock and hanging them on a tree limb to dry - I would put the mattress protector on the crib to protect it from any accidents that would occur. Back then it also worked as an alarm to let you know when the baby made the slightest move because it crinkled loudly.



Now that we have a new generation of little ones and I am getting lots of grandchildren I was excited when I received the opportunity to try this

Braun Forehead Thermometer

I have five monkeys and by monkeys I mean children. Four are in school but I'm a working mother so at one point I had five monkeys in daycare. I don't know about your daycare but ours seemed like a germ factory. Every week it seemed like one of my kids were sick. The daycare would constantly call and say one of my more active children had fever. It would never fail it was always on a Friday at about 3:30 pm. So I would get her home and take her temperature and she was normal on my thermometer. So my husband and I came to conclusion that either my child was giving them a hard time and they wanted the rest of the evening to be quiet or my thermometer didn't work.

Now grant you this was when she was from the ages of 1 1/2 - 3 years old so it was no easy task to take her temperature. I was using one of the digital but taking the reading under her arm. What 2 year old sits completely still and waits for a thermometer to work? If yours does I envy you because none of mine did!

So you know what I had to do right? Stick the thermometer under her arm and bear hug her until it beeped. Once it beeped if there was no fever I always thought maybe it isn't accurate or I didn't hold her completely still so it slipped out of place. So I did the process all over again causing more irritation to me and the child than necessary. Most of the time even if my children had a slight fever or cold they never "acted" sick so after the second time if it didn't register a fever I assumed it was okay.

Even now that they are school age none of them like to sit still and wait for the thermometer to read at least now I have to take their temp less often.  When I was selected to review the Braun Forehead Thermometer I was super excited. My husband and I were talking about buying a new thermometer because ours broke and my children or not the other one had been under arm pits for years so it wasn't going in my mouth.

My children's pediatrician used a forehead thermometer last time I went and Braun is a trusted brand so I had no doubts it would be an accurate reading.  The thermometer itself is very sturdy but lightweight. It works by running it on their forehead so there is no irritating bear hug so it is a much more pleasant experience.  Also there is no waiting because it works in seconds. It also is color coded if the background is green the temperature is acceptable, yellow elevated, red high so no guessing. That would come in handy at midnight if you're woken up.  This is a product I would recommend every parent have in their home.
