New ONE DIRECTION Makeup Kits!

So I probably should have grown up a long time ago but I can't help myself. I LOVE bright colors I have always love black lights as well. When I was younger I remember clubbing with glow in the dark nail polish. That was so awesome under the black lights for a long time I wanted a black light in my house.

Of course I grew up and stopped wearing stuff like that mainly because I stopped clubbing. That is really hard to do with five children, they can't come with and people are scared to babysit them all. I have no idea why the idea of five children scares people.. in my most sarcastic tone.

These kits were released November 15th and is available at Macy's, Dillards, Boscov's, Stage Stores, Beauty Brands, and Lord & Taylor.

The lip glosses were a LOT prettier than I was expecting. The colors are so shimmery and all the colors are so pretty. None of them are extremely dark and they all go on very smooth and stay for a long time. 

Oh I don't think I mentioned these are all black light activated. I could see my younger self now. Glowing from head to toe.  

The mascara was the first thing I tried. NOT on my eyelashes but in my hair. It looks so pretty in my hair. The blue and pink were so super vibrant. It dried in seconds and it stayed in all night long. I was very amazed when I woke up the next morning and it was still there. 

Super Cute but these are for the younger girls. One Direction has a LOT of other make up that is for young and older a like but this I would gear towards teens.

New Makeup by ONE DIRECTION Limited-Edition Beauty Collection

I know One Direction is a band that is for younger girls but the last time I tried their makeup i was very impressed. I was happy to get a chance to review this makeup collection for y'all. These new sets are now available in the following stores Sears USA, Kmart, Target, and  Walmart Canada.

Each kit collection comes with 6 Eye Shadows, Eye Pencil in black, 4 Lip Glosses, a Lip gloss top coat, and two nail polishes.  So all you have to add is your foundation and mascara for a complete look.

               

The shadow goes on beautifully and even though they are shimmer they are not an overly sparkly shimmer. They can still be worn for day time use.  They are smooth shadows with little or no fall out.  They can be used in different combinations to create beautiful looks the mattes can help achieve the perfect smokey eye. 

The lip glosses are extremely pretty and they go smooth and not sticky or gooey.  Where them alone or over your favorite lipstick to bring create a new look. Maybe try mixing two or more together and see what colors you can create. 

          

                                       
Since all three sets were exactly the same I gave one to my younger sister. She got so excited about the glitter lip topper. It is really pretty on and it can go over any matte color that you would like to add some sparkle. I like sparkly lips so I would use it over a lot of my matte shades.

The polish colors are great and I LOVE glitter polish it is so pretty on. Of course it is very hard to get off but that never stops any of us,  does it?  Of course you can wear them both separately or use the glitter as a topper/accent to the solid magenta.

One Direction Limited Edition Makeup in a collectible tin

I was excited when I was chosen to review Makeup by One Direction for y'all but then I was little nervous. I'm not a teenager anymore and One Direction is a teen age heartthrob band. So It would only make sense if the makeup was made for young girls. There are three different collections inspired by the band's chart topping albums Midnight Memories, Take Me Home, and Up all Night. Each limited edition The Looks Collection has everything you need to enhance your beauty style all in a collectible tin.

Every tin contains a Little Black Dress Mascara, four velvety, pigment-rich eye shadows, and a bold glitter creme shadow, Chubby eye and body crayon , nail varnish in fashion forward shades including metallics and golden glitter flakes.

Like I mentioned there are three collections to choose from and I was VERY happy when I saw the collection I was sent. These colors are perfect for me so I would wear them and be able to work well with them.

I got the Take me Home Collection the palette is semi-neutral and I say semi because there is a glitter crease so it can be ramped up to a beautiful night time look. The palette is a little less pigmented than I expected being geared towards younger girls I thought it would be very bold and bright but it went on beautifully. Even the shimmer (not the glitter) color was very pretty and mildly shimmery. It was just enough shimmer to give it a little sparkle. I will continue to wear the palette until I run out. I love the colors and I love the look of them on. On a primed eyelid the shadow was very smooth and long lasting. It did not crease or fade. This is when I wore them all without the glitter shadow.

The mascara is an average mascara with a nice long handle to the wand. The brush is slim and easy to use on both top and bottom lashes. You won't hear me say this often but it works better with a swooping motion instead of a wiggling motion. In my honest opinion there was no wow factor with the mascara at all. It was not bold or intense nor did it give my lashes a great curl or tons of volume. It would be perfect for an every day mascara where you are not looking for dramatic lashes. I did notice smudging at the end of the day but that could be avoided if you don't sweet like I did. 

The lip gloss is orange and I thought I wouldn't like it but it's adorable. It is very shimmery but still very pretty on. It's enough glimmer and glitter to make my lips sparkle. But it was not too much were I looked like I was going out to a club. 

The Chubby eye and body crayon is brown and could be used as eyeliner if you wanted. It can be used for your face or body to draw what you want, the kit comes with stencils so they would work hand and hand together. The body crayon goes on extremely smooth and the line can be as thick or thin as you want, you are in complete control .

The nail polish is a multi-colored glitter formulated for quick drying and long wear. I have this love/hate relationship with glitter. I love the way it looks, but I hate the way it sticks like super glue.  I of course will never stop wearing glitter.

The lipstick looks like it would be an extremely bright pink but it is a very pretty shade. It goes on smooth and is long wearing. It doesn't feel icky or gooey on my lips so I don't feel the need to wipe it off after a few minutes.

The tin has a cute brick design and all of the makeup works a brick design in as well. I think that the tin is adorable and so is the makeup. I would like to keep the makeup and the tin as a collector's item but I will use the makeup instead. It's really too pretty to pack away.
