My first Ipsy Glambag of 2014

I've said it before but I'll say it again. Ipsy is a way for me to feel like it's Christmas or my birthday all year long because I get to open a present every month. This is my first bag of 2014 and I wanted to share it with you.

The theme is 19 reasons. This is what I got in mine

A full size Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow in Penny This shadow "pencil" sells for $14.99. I have used Elizabeth Mott products before and liked them so I'm excited to try this. I'm not a huge fan of shadow pencils but I'm willing to try anything.

A deluxe trail size Nourish Organics Light Weight Moisturizing Face Lotion full size sells for $21.99. I have never heard of this brand before so I'm curious to see what it's like. It smells  sort of orangey to me and the consistency is thin but runny.

A deluxe trial size Tahitian Monoi Faith Aromatherapy Anti-Aging sugar scrub full size sells for $17.99. I love a sugar scrub although I have never used on my face. I'm very excited to try this one. If it's like other sugar scrubs I will no doubt love it.

A deluxe trial size Mica Beauty Tinted Lip Balm in #5 Natural which I'm sure you have guess is a pretty neutral is a shade The lip balm sells for $30.00. I have used Mica shadow before and loved it so I'm excited to try this. But I can say I'm overflowing with lip balm! Oh well guess a girl can never have too much.

Last but not least a deluxe sample of Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat leave in conditioner. Full size sell for $17.95. I'm really very meh about this product. My excitement level is way down I don't need any more leave in conditioners I have TONS. Most of them cost a lot less and work very well. I will try this one just because you never know I may love it.  The only thing that may help is it is a spray in. I have used all my spray in conditioners and only have foam left. I have tried other products from Sexy Hair and there was no wow factor to me.

I love at least one thing in my Ipsy bag every month but a lot of times I love more so for $10.00 a month you can't go wrong. They are not all full size but where else can you try $103.00 worth of products for $10.00?

Studio Gear Cosmetics Holiday Smokey Eye Palette

Studio Gear Cosmetics has lots of beautiful makeup, skin care, and brushes so they have products for all of your beauty needs. I was lucky enough to get a Smokey Eye Palette to try. The Smokey Eye Palette is specially priced at $25.00. 

The Studio Gear Cosmetics Smokey Eye Palette is absolutely beautiful and it comes with four shadows and a blush. The shadow colors are Platinum, Frost, Coal, and Glimmer and the blush is Snowy Glow. It also has step by step instructions so it has everything you need to create the perfect holiday inspired smokey eye. The colors all are complimentary so you can create many looks with this palette, not just the smokey eye.  The colors are prefect for day or night wear depending on what combinations you use.

The step by step guide is very easy to follow and it includes s a picture reference. My only complaint is it mentions specific brushes sold by Studio Cosmetics when telling you what shadow to apply. But it really wasn't a big deal I just guessed which one of my brushes was the closest match.

The shadow is perfectly pigmented it goes on just right. Not too dark, not too light and goes on beautifully. It is perfect because once your rub your brush lots of shadow is ready to be applied. The shadow doesn't crease or fad either.

The blush is also beautiful, I wasn't too sure about it because it looks like a strong coral hue but it goes on very pretty.  This too is the perfect amount of  powder when you run your brush over it to apply. You don't need a lot in to apply and it blends beautifully.

Full size FACE Stockholm Concealer Stick in Medium which sells for $19.00. When I swatched it the stick was soft and went on smoothly. The coverage blended beautifully with my skin and it felt very light.  I can see this working very well and can't wait to try it.

Full size Color Club polish in Baldwin Blues which retails for $8.00 a bottle. I have mentioned before that I love blue polish and this one is spectacular being such a deep blue.

As a bonus I got a sample of Skiin Instant Skin Tightener & Line Filler which is super exciting because it is designed to help the wrinkles around the eyes by instantly tightening and lifting the skin. I can't wait to try this either. The sample looks like it will be at least a few applications.

So you can see that the quiz really works I got a box full of things I love and nothing that I can't use.

I have not tried the intimate but if I do you'll be the first to know what I think. I never heard of BA-Star cosmetics until I received an invitation to this campaign and from what I've seen on their website I think I've been missing out.  Their website has a wonderful selection of make up some of it is geared towards girls who do pageants or cheer leading competitions but they have beautiful palettes that look great for everyday use. They also have palette kits that can be used to create your entire look. Their whole selection is very affordable too. The glitter and mineral shadow sell for only $8.75 each. I received a sample of the mineral eye shadow in Diamond Star Dust and a glue shadow base I would have never thought of using a shadow glue but it is a very nice idea. It is not sticky like a glue it is only a base to
hold the mineral shadow in place.  The glue is white in the tube but don't freak out it goes on clear.

The shadow is a loose powder so just a word of advice don't over shake the container before you open it like I did. I had glitter every where and my hands stayed full of glitter for a long time.


The color I received was a white sparkle so I didn't use as an actual shadow but I used it to highlight my shadow. It is very comfortable to wear and you don't feel it on your eyes, nor does it dry like an actual glue. It is very easy to remove all it takes is soap and water. It never bled or ran in my eyes and it stayed in place for my ten hour work day.  Keep in mind I don't sweat profusely, okay probably never while working, I sit behind a desk.

Since the mineral shadow that I received is so glittery and sparkly that I would not wear it on a daily basis or to the office. I would wear it for a night of clubbing, in a pageant, to a cheer leading competition, or any other time you want that extra sparkle.

Ipsy's August 2013 Glambag

Hey have you heard about Ipsy? If you haven't this is the scoop it's $10.00 per month and you get cute make up bag with 4/5 full size or deluxe samples.I have been a member for a few months and have not been disappointed.  There are usually a few variations of the bag so every month I feel a little like a child on Christmas eve waiting for Santa. It's a great way to try premium products without the high dollar cost. 

You take a quiz and the products are tailored towards you from your answers. Each month they have a theme and the products and bag go with that theme. This is my August Bag "Glamour Academy".  I love the bag this month, it's so pretty and the products inside are awesome.
