what the hype on exfoliating?

Do you exfoliate? Why should you? I recently discovered exfoliation is amazing for your skin. It keeps it looking young and glowing. Have you ever looked at your skin and thought it was dull? Or did it lack any since of shine? I started noticing in my legs that the hair follicles were big. It was odd, I am not even sure how to explain it but my skin looked off. So I decided to be diligent about exfoliating. I was AMAZED by the difference ( also hydrated after) but wow!

There are also other amazing benefits of exfoliation, not just looks either) :

  • maintains the health of your skin
  • increases blood flow
  • Boost the effectiveness of Your Skin Care Products
  • Unclogs Pores
  • Prevents Acne
  • Boosts Collagen Production

So I wanted to share a few of my favorite scrubs!

My absolute FAVORITE is Truly Beauty - Blueberry Kush CBD Body Scrub it smells like a blueberry pie that I want to take a bite out of.  I love that it's a Vegan,  Clean Ingredients,  Cruelty Free,  and Sustainable Packaging Brand. It is very gentle and feels nice when using. It leaves my skin fresh and new feeling if that makes sense.
shop here for it and use code alwaysblabbing at check out for a savings of 15%!
it pairs and layers great with any body butter or serum on the site and nothing I have ordered has disappointed me or smelled anything less than amazing !!

What Truly Beauty says:

The anti inflammatory, antioxidant, and omega-rich collab between CBD and blueberry you never knew you needed. Lightly buff away dead skin with sugar + AHA/BHA while upcycled blueberry seed oil and 300mg CBD detoxify and illuminate. WHY IT'S SPECIAL Sugar + AHA/BHA spur the generation of new, more evenly pigmented skin cells, while removing excess dermis and sebum. 300mg of antioxidant-packed CBD soothes inflammation while also being a potent antibacterial, making it suitable for acne-prone skin. Blueberry seed oil has a high fatty acid composition to support skin’s barrier function - resulting in a hydrated complexion protected against blue light and free radicals.

Dr Teals Shea Sugar Scrub in Rose Essential Oils - this one is silky feeling and I like that! It is super gentle and works great. It also has an unbelieve smell that is very close to fresh roses.

This one too is FREE FROM WORRY: Paraben free, phthalate free, vegan friendly, and never tested on animals. With awesome ingredients like Shea Butter, Evening Primrose Oil, and Macadamia Oil moisturizes and this scrub leaves skin feeling soft and smooth!  Dr Teals is another brand that has not disappointed me! I love the scruns and bubble bath.

Last but certainly, not least Tree Hut is another amazing brand for scrubs! I like the Tahitian Vanilla but they have a TON of amazing scents.  You can shop here and see the variety of scrubs they offer. I also love the shave oil that just tops off a clean shave!!  All of the scents are amazing but this vanilla is a favorite because vanilla is a go to scent for me. I do think during Christmas I will pick up a Candy Cane jar !

Tree Hut is a Vegan, paraben and sulfate free, brand as well !

what Tree Hut has to say:

We formulate with high concentrations of skin-loving, plant-based ingredients. Our assortment elevates any shower routine with ingredients like: Shea Butter, CupuaƧu Butter, Sugar, Avocado Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Guarana, Aloe, Fruit Enzymes, Fruit Extracts, and Vitamin C. Tree Hut products are proudly made without Parabens or Sulfates.

So how often should you exfoliate?  these are some recommendations I found:

Normal skin 2 to 3 times a week generally offers a safe starting point. You can exfoliate more frequently if your skin tolerates it well.

Oily skin Want to exfoliate more frequently? Go for it. Even daily exfoliation may be just fine, when it comes to your face.

Sensitive skin Aim to dial back the exfoliation to once weekly, at most. If your skin is particularly sensitive, you might even want to skip it entirely. Oily skin Want to exfoliate more frequently?
