No shave trend

So I'm scrolling through FaceBook last night and I see this picture:

Of course I was very curious to see what it was all about so I clicked on the link. It appears several woman have decided to stop putting themselves through the daunting task of removing their body hair. My first thought was wow, I can see how liberating that really would be. No more shaving or waxing, double checking to make sure no spot was missed. No more stressing when it starts growing back. No more carrying razors on vacation even though I always secretly hope I can make it through the entire trip without having to use it.

Then on the other hand is America really ready for this fad?  Other cultures accept and embrace woman not shaving they even think it is sexy.  But a lot of American men think that a woman should be smooth. I mean we even have men shaving their arms and legs now. So will this trend be a socially accepted?

This is a perfect example of how society reacts to women not shaving. Was it really necessary to point out her hairy legs?  From the first picture it was very unnoticeable.

I've said it before I believe in live and let live so if you have decided to ditch your razors, shaving cream, and wax good for you!  After a lot of thought,  I could only join this revolution during the winter. I go as long as I can during the winter without shaving but come summer, the razors come out.

I'm not sure why but I do hate to shave. It' s not like it takes a long time but it's just a pain so I could see the joy in stopping. But in my opinion a smooth hairless leg in shorts or a shirt makes me feel very sexy. I don't know if I would feel the same way if I stopped shaving. Truthfully, think a man with a hairless back and chest is extremely sexy.

So this girl will not be banishing her razor and shaving cream anytime soon.  I may change my mind later on, in fact I'm pretty certain come October I will slowing start joining the no shave revolution one week at a time.
How about you?  Have you tossed your razors and started enjoying a liberating no shave lifestyle? What are your thoughts on woman who have tossed their razors and stopped shaving? No rude comments please.

  1. I am not an everyday shave but doing the summer 2 times a week. Winter I do tend to let it slide a little more.. And might miss a spot and notice I get a little longer above on the back of my legs. Full hair however not for me. and my pits will always be shaved daily.

  2. Hm. I'm a big hippie and all for natural lifestyle, etc... but I don't think I'd ever stop shaving, but as it is I shave no more than once a week, and only that often if my legs will be bare. I definitely went the entire winter without shaving my legs. (pits more like every 3 days regularly - that gets uncomfortable!)

  4. Winter time for me is nearly shave-free, nice and natural. In the summer with skirts and shorts etc I'm not sure I could but would love the idea of being able to, if everyone did it that would be fab.

  5. I go nearly shave-free (even in summer) thanks to my super fine and light natural red hair! I shave my pits daily, but legs only once every two months or so for a special occasion. I'm also pretty lazy...hah!

  6. If everyone decided to stop shaving, that's a bandwagon I'd totally hop onto without having to think twice about it. Well...for the legs anyway. The underarm shaving would stay.

  7. During the winter months I wear long pants mostly so do not worry overmuch about shaving my legs. Come summer--well out come the razors for the shorts, skirts and dresses! In a way I hope it does become the craze-I am forever nicking my legs!

  8. I saw a similar picture on Facebook and could not bring myself to look at the post. Although it might work for some gals, I love the feeling of smooth legs and wouldn't join this trend.

  9. 500 years ago fat was the "in thing" for women. Trends will come and go but inner beauty will remain a constant. Are you a good person? Are you a good mother (if you have kids) These will always be the most important things.
