What would you do?

I was recently offered a chance to do a paid post for a company that I never heard of. It was a nice amount of money so I was very excited and started to write the post. Then I thought to myself "before I can sell this company I need to know a little bit about them"

When I started doing research I realized quickly I should research before I apply to do a post for an unknown company. This company had an F with the Better Business Bureau and had several complaints filed against them for not shipping products. It didn't take me long to decide that I didn't want to promote a company like. I like and respect my readers and followers way too much to do that. I'm just glad I had that little voice in my head that made me check them out.

Would you do a post without investigating the company?

  1. Like with everything else in my life, I research the heck out of brands, companies, etc. I always make sure I go to the smaller blogs, that don't do many "sponsored" or "paid" reviews and kind of take it from there. It makes me sad that companies will use bloggers to endorse them knowing full well that they may not be on the up and up, good for you for checking them out and standing your ground! Readers respect that!

    1. I would never have thought twice if I had heard of the company but I'm glad I didn't. It does make me wonder how much I read is junk?
