I'm no different from most woman, when I get dressed I want everything in it's place and nothing unnecessary hanging or bulging out. I occasionally use some type of shapewear but when I think of shapewear I think of the ugly white girdle I have that squeezes me so tight I can't breath. When I wear it (yes I still wear it) I can't wait to come home and take it off. Then I breathe a huge sigh of relief when it comes off. So you can imagine I don't wear it often.
So I was very excited to work with Jewel Toned Shapeware for a review. Jewel Toned is a new generation of shapewear that is colorful and fun. This is shapewear that can be worn on its on, layered, or hidden because they have taken the shame out of shapewaear. Jewel Toned brings you customizable, meant-to-be-seen, sexy intimates.
All of their shapewear looked so amazing, I had a hard time choosing which piece of shapewear I wanted to review. I chose the Major Mini Black dress for a couple of reasons. One it is black and would go with anything if I chose let a part of it peak out and second it has spaghetti straps so they would hide under any outfit as well.
When I received my package I had to pull out the Mini Black dress and was very impressed with how soft the material is.It feels so nice and almost silky. I put it on and was very surprised that I could move very easily in the garment. I was afraid to pull it down to my knees because I just knew I would have to walk with my knees together but that was not the case. The dress let me move freely with no restrictions or difficulties. It was so comfortable. I didn't notice any difference from a normal form fitting dress.
I was also very happy with the amount of support it provided. It tucked in things that would normally bulge and made objects in mirror look smaller than they are. I was nervous about the built in bra because I am well endowed so I have a hard time with those. But it supported me very well. So I was very impressed and excited to wear the dress for the first time.
I love that it doesn't ride up and it moves with me with no restraints. I like that it can be used under a dress but if I fold it, I can use it under a shirt and shorts/pants as well. It is a great length because I can wear it under any of my dresses. The material is very breathable so I was not smothering hot all evening.

I received these products complimentary in exchange for an honest uncompensated review but the opinion expressed is all mine. Rest assured I only recommend products that are good for my readers.
Super excited about Major Mini Dresses!
ReplyDeleteWish they were available in plus sizes....xl is not plus enough for me lol
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing but the XL worked good for me.
DeleteThese look great. I will look into them for sure.
ReplyDeleteI stopped wearing girdles YEARS ago--I tend to like to be able to breathe-the heck with how I look! But if you say you can actually wear these with no pain or suffocation involved I just might try one!
ReplyDeleteEver since my kids were born, my stomach muscles laugh at me when I try to suck in. I would definitely like to try Jewel Toned shapewear!
ReplyDeleteI also wish it was available in plus sizes. This is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI would recommend this to my sister but she might assault me. Seriously, this was a great review though.
ReplyDeleteThis comment made me laugh out loud. Woman are terribly sensitive when it comes to their weight! I don't want you to get assaulted because of me!
DeleteI have tried shape wear before but I always found them so hot so I am very interested in the Jewel Toned Shape Wear as you say it is not hot. Thanks for the great review and information on this product.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds amazing and I will have to go to the site. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWow! I was just looking for something like this! Going to check out their other items!
ReplyDeleteWow! Thank you so much for sharing this. After two kids, and a rare nerve disorder that I've had for the past three years, which I've undergone 3 surgeries for- one of which was a failed brain surgery, and now I have a second out-of-state brain surgery coming up, I am not in good shape, and I no longer have the energy to cook my family meals from scratch like I did before the daily, horrible pain from this disorder took over and completely changed our lives. I've tried other shape wear, and even a traditional corset, but I can barely breathe in either, and I'm in enough pain without adding more pain just trying to hide the extra weight I've gained. The black mini dress looks so sexy, and I hope when I'm back on my feet and not saving every penny to get 2,500 miles away for my next brain surgery that I'll be able to try it out. I'm so glad to know not all shape wear is ugly!
